SANDUSKY COUNTY STRATEGIC PLANS

null
Sandusky County has created two plans: a 5-year comprehensive plan and a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS). These crucial plans have been carefully crafted based on extensive research and analysis of county demographics and development trends to meet the county’s unique needs and goals. By implementing the strategies listed in both plans, we can ensure a positive impact on the county’s development and future prosperity.

SANDUSKY COUNTY HOUSING STUDY

In 2025, the SCEDC conducted a housing study for Sandusky County in partnership with DiSalvo Development Group. This study identified significant opportunities for new housing development driven by a limited supply of modern alternatives and growing household demand. It projects a market need for up to 1,000 new housing units over the next five years. Learn how you can support modern housing solutions by contacting us today!

COMPREHENISIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES (CEDS)

A comprehensive economic development strategy is a plan created through community collaboration to foster economic development and resiliency in the region. The completion of the CEDS makes the region eligible for funding sources from the Economic Development Administration (EDA) that require a CEDS. It also sets the region up to become an Economic Development District (EDD), if it chooses to do so in the future.

5-YEAR SANDUSKY COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN

The Sandusky County Regional Planning Commission developed a long-range plan used to guide growth and development. The plan presents current information on county demographics, development trends, and public facilities, and presents a set of recommendations for local decision-makers to consider.
